Different types of wheels and castors

• Rubber - absorb vibrations and shocks, allowing for a smoother ride and reducing the impact on your loads
• Nylon - Durable. Chemical and moisture resistant Non marking. Suitable for all surfaces
• Polyurethane - strong load bearing. protects delicate goods. Durable. Noise reducing. Smooth even surface.
• Pneumatic - offer better traction, especially on uneven surfaces
• Braked casters - Connected to a break system for secure parked position
• Swivel castors - Allows a 360 spin
• Fixed castors - Moves in one direction. stable

Wheels
A single rolling disc rolling straight. Can be attached to an axle to allow controlled turning with a steering mechanism.

Our 200mm spare sack truck wheels are made from solid rubber. As such, they’re quieter and gentler on floors, reducing the risk of scratches, scuffs, and other damage.

Black solid rubber tyres absorb vibrations and shocks, allowing for a smoother ride and reducing the impact on your loads and unlike pneumatic tyre options, you’ll never suffer the inconvenience of a puncture!

Boasting a versatile design, our heavy-duty turntable trucks have varying load capacities and are great for moving boxes, palletised goods, and more.

 We supply spare wheels in 350mm and 400mm diameters with roller bearings. Our smaller wheel replacements are solid rubber, whilst our larger ones are pneumatic.

Pneumatic tyres typically offer better traction, especially on uneven surfaces. However, they are prone to punctures and require regular maintenance.

Castors
Castors are wheels mounted to a plate bracket. Castors are available in different options. 

If your castors are suffering from prolonged use and they’re starting to buckle or bend, replacing them is the best option.

Castor options
Available in rubber, polyurethane and nylon material dependant on surface conditions and  load capacities. Optional features available.

When to replace wheels and castors

Wheels and castors are designed for various different tasks and surfaces.
It is important to upgrade or replace wheels and castors when needed to reduce damage to equipment and to comply with health and safety legislation to prevent injury. There are many reasons for replacement or upgrading.
